Fairfood International encourages food and beverage companies to make their products more sustainable, contributing to the fight against poverty and hunger around the world. Fairfood is in contact with more than 1700 companies in over 76 countries worldwide.

Sustainability Advocate Food Companies
Eastern Europe (Based in Berlin) 20 -24 hrs
Function
As ‘Sustainability Advocate Food Companies Eastern Europe’ you are responsible for helping the Manager to stimulate food and beverage brand owners to increase the levels of sustainability and transparency associated with their products. You will research which companies can be approached as advocacy targets. You will approach them and maintain contact with these companies (by e-mail or by phone) in order to create a positive dialogue and encourage them to increase the sustainability of their products. For this position you will be working from our office in Berlin for the Manager Brand Owners Eastern Europe.
Your competences
You are studying at or have graduated from a higher education (HBO or Fachhochschule) or university or have acquired an equivalent level of working and thinking through professional experience. You preferably have knowledge of companies in relation to CSR and/or sustainability. Experience with lobbying is a prerequisite. Furthermore, you have excellent verbal and written skills in English and German. Language skills in Italian, Polish, any other Eastern European language or Turkish are an asset. You are able to work independently, but you are also a team player. It is important that you are diplomatic as well as persistent. Obviously, you have affinity with Fairfood’s goals.
What we offer?
This is an unpaid position suitable as an internship to obtain work experience both in this particular field and at an NGO. We offer a versatile position within a young international organisation. You will have the freedom and opportunity to continue developing yourself and achieve tangible results. We value our employees and fully recognize that flexibility in your working hours might be important for you. We do expect, however, that you will work a minimum of sixteen hours a week for a period of three months.
